Wet & Wild Wednesday!
Hi Parents:
Today's
Listening Exam went exactly as I anticipated—AWESOME! The children did
exceptionally well, and I am very proud of their hard work and preparation.
Tonight,
the students are bringing home an Oral Practice Worksheet. If possible, please
take a few minutes to practice with your child. Have them read the passage
aloud and then answer the questions for you. They should read and re-read the "decodable" stories in My View 1.2 and 1.3 ( " Brave Jane," "Can Phil Help?," and "The Race"). Knowing these will really HELP tomorrow's oral.
Please
encourage your child to answer in complete sentences. One-word answers are not
acceptable and will result in lost points during the Oral Exam. Practicing
complete-sentence responses at home will help build both their confidence and
speaking skills. This will benefit them in grade 2.
Tomorrow, the students
will take home a Written Exam Practice Worksheet. They should complete it at
home, and we will correct it together during Friday's class after our Oral
Exams are finished.
