Terrific Tuesday
Hi Parents;
Today
was a great day in class! The students successfully completed their Math
workbooks. They are also bringing home their Phonics workbooks, which have been
completed, corrected, and checked. These books are being sent home as keepsakes
and do not
need to be returned to school.
Tonight's
homework is the same as last night's, with one change: The Short Story Report
worksheet. Today, the students received Worksheet #3 for The Clever Monkey.
Tomorrow
is our Listening
Exam. I am not too concerned about this first exam because the
students have been well prepared and I am confident they will do their best.
On
Thursday and
Friday, we will have our Oral
Exams. These can be a little more challenging. Students should
review the decodable stories that were taught before each of the three main
stories we have focused on this quarter. The Oral Exam often becomes more
difficult during the Question & Answer section, where some students may
feel less confident when responding in complete sentences.
Please
encourage your child to review the decodable stories and practice answering
questions about them at home. This extra practice can make a big difference in
building confidence.
Tomorrow
night, the students will bring home a practice Oral Exam worksheet to help them
prepare.
