Madness Monday
Hi Parents:
Today
was a day full of review and reflection. First, we corrected Friday's test. The
children did well overall, although I honestly expected slightly higher results
based on their performance during our class reviews.
Test
Results:
- 100%:
2 students
- 90–99%:
28 students
- 80–89%:
2 students
- 70–79%:
0 students
Class
Average: 96%
Most
of the mistakes were related to proper nouns. I truly thought the students had a stronger
understanding of this grammar concept, but their test results showed that we
still need a little more practice. We will spend additional time reviewing
proper nouns after the Final Exams next week.
The
children also have a worksheet for tonight's Short Story Report #2: The
Ant and the Grasshopper. Please remind your child that the stories for
these reports are assigned according to our lesson plan and are not chosen by
the students.
I
would also like to mention our Self-Reflection Writing. Some students
have recently been writing less than expected. Each self-reflection should be at
least one paragraph (5–7 complete sentences). The students have all
received guidance and practice on how to write at this level.
I
encourage every student to put effort into their self-reflections. This is
essentially journal-writing practice, and it helps strengthen important writing
skills. Regular writing helps students organize their thoughts, express
themselves more clearly, and build confidence when completing reports,
assignments, and other writing tasks in the future.
Thank
you for your continued support at home.
