Terrific Thursday

Hi Parents:

Today was a great day! We reviewed the lessons that will be covered on tomorrow’s test, and I was able to identify the areas where the children need a little more practice. I prepared worksheets for them to complete tonight to help reinforce these skills.

The test tomorrow will be challenging, so I encouraged the children to carefully read the stories, understand the plot, identify the problem and solution, and review page 44 in the MyView student book.

Students should also know:

• The genre of the story and the meaning of a moral
• The difference between writing a poem and a haiku

In Phonics, students should understand digraphs and trigraphs.

In Grammar, they should have an understanding of:

• Singular and plural nouns
• Comparative adjectives (adding -er or -ier)
• Superlative adjectives (using more when appropriate)

Please take the time to focus on the items above as well as the vocabulary words and definitions.
