Mighty Monday

Hi Parents:

Hopefully you all had a great weekend.

Today was a good day in class! We corrected our quiz from last Friday and reviewed the students’ work together. While we did not have any perfect scores this time, I am still very proud of the effort the students showed. Everyone tried their best, and our class average was still an impressive 90%. Great job, A1 students!

For homework tonight, the children have been asked to complete the assigned worksheet and pages assigned in the MV Practice Book 1.2. I gave the students time to begin the vocabulary worksheet in class today. The vocabulary writing assignment is our regular Monday homework; however, students do not need to write sentences tonight.

I strongly encourage the children to review their definition worksheet at home to help them prepare for Friday’s test. This week’s test will focus on both story comprehension and the definitions of our weekly vocabulary words.

Tomorrow, we will begin working on the students’ final writing assignment. Our lesson will focus on using comparative adjectives to help students describe their experiences in first grade. The children will practice writing about how they have grown and improved throughout the year. We will complete a worksheet in class to assist the students when writing their own version of their experience in Grade 1.
