- We will read 'Simple Machines'πŸ€–, from pages 130-165 in our Reading Street (1.5) books.

There will be story questions in the written exam on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023.

Bubble Book:

- We will write out our Vocabulary Words (Week 16) 1-24in our bubble book.

Practice writing each Vocabulary Word (X1) neatly on the green line.


- Check corrections - Check if there is a star '*', you will need to write the sentence again.

- Write the date at the top - Thursday, 12/29

- Write the VWs and number; 1-24

- Then write 5 sentences and number each one; 1-5

For example:

1. The actor had to be a sailor for the movie.

2. I had a banana split for dessert.

3. I fell off the swing and needed a wheelchair.

4. There was a strange object in the sky. Was it a UFO?

5. An inventor makes many inventions.


- In each sentence, underline each VW used.

l  Oral Exam –   Thursday & Friday, December 29th - 30th, 2022

l  Written Exam –Wednesday, January 4th, 2023

 

The exams may cover the following: 

 

ORAL EXAM:   Reading benchmark of an unfamiliar text. Using full sentences to answer story questions.

 

WRITTEN EXAM: 

Vocabulary Comprehension:  Vocabulary words from weeks 13-16

 

Story comprehension (understanding of the story):

·         Mole and Baby Bird (RS1.5 pages 52-89)

·         Simple Machines (RS1.5 pages 130-165)

 

Pronouns

 Phonics:

Students may be asked to identify:

  • Vowel Patterns ow, ou
  • Diphthongs oi, oy
  • Suffixes –er, -or
  • Vowel Patterns aw, au
